After a first satisfactory trial in 2007 at the VIP stand in Spa Francorchamps, the organisers of the Formula 1 race in Belgium decided to turn to RFIDEA, a designer of built-in RFID solutions, to deploy an innovative yet secure solution to greet and control the access of all the visitors coming to the circuit for the 2010 Belgium championship (27 to 29, september). RFIDEA, which designed the solution, accomplished its mission along with its technological partners: Toshiba Tec for the printing of 300,000 tickets with RFID tags, and Psion Teklogix which set up and provided 80 WORKABOUT PRO handheld terminals equipped with a HF RFID reader.

  • I am personally very proud about this particular event because RFIDEA, and the Francorchamps Grand Prix event, have been a loyal customer of the Aftermarket services since 2007. A huge number of Workabout Pro devices are rented out each year to handle the ticket reading through RFID technology.  This year we rented a mixture of Workabout Pro G2’s and the brand new Workabout Pro 3’s. The Workabout Pro 3 fitted right in; RFIDEA’s application software ran flawlessly without having to change one single bit of code. The Workabout Pro 3 used the very same RFID reader than the one fitted inside the Workabout Pro G2. This is a very good proof that the Workabout Pro product line is the right choice and offers smooth and transparent continuity.

  • Pascal - I tried a while ago to contact RFIDEA with a view to trying to prepare a solution for the Olympic Games. Maybe you can help me to contact the right person? Thanks you, Christopher.

  • Hi Christopher,

I will send you their contact details by email.

If you like, I can introduce them to you – just let me know.

    Regards,

    Pascal
