Dremels are a girl's best friend! Seriously! :)

I think everyone out there knows the famous phrase "Diamond's are a girl's best friend!".

Well, not for this girl!!! Of course, I do have other prized "possessions" I really care about, for example my furry/feathered family members. However, when it comes down to work, my best friends are my Dremel set and my tool kit (which grows every day). I am higly possessive over my favorite tools as they've helped me save certain situations from getting from bad to worse, put a smile on a customer's face, or (at times) come up with new and creative solutions. On top of that, my possessiveness over said objects sometimes makes for some very hillarious behavior or discussion both at home (since my hubby's a technical geek like me) and sometimes while in the field.

So, that being said, do you have any work tools you get possessive of?

  • Aneline, you sure make Christmas shopping easy for your husband! Smile

  • Yes, but the catch is that he CAN'T share my toys (though he always tries to find an excuse to do so)!!!! :)

  • I'd have to add that a Dremel is a guy's best friend as well, but I'd have to say for a work tool, my cordless Screwdriver is one tool I don't let out of my sight. With all our Modularity options I'd have tennis elbow if I didnt use my cordless screwdriver to make the hundreds of variants of demo WAP's and now OMNII's!

  • I've resisted getting a cordless screwdriver but that might not be a bad idea. I do look forward to taking apart an Omnii though :)

  • Yes, Aneline, I have lots of tools on my top ten list.

I'm very fond of my Simson Strong-tie automatic screw gun:

I'm also thrilled by my Fein Multimaster tool:

OK, I better stop before I get carried away... :)

  • Thanks John! You sure know how to stir up my curiosity....and providing the links is the kicker. Bet you had a hunch I'll be looking them up? :)

  • Knife and copper tape!!! Essential stuffs when you are working for RF :-D

  • I always knew you were a 'hacker' Aneline....

  • Ben, I find that aluminum  wrap can also be useful when doing certain RF tests...I don't get possessive over that unless I have to use it for cooking *grin*

Oh, and add to the must have in the tool kit anti-static tape and angled needle nose pliers!!

  • Rob,  what gave THAT away? :)

  • Personally, I like my saws, I can do more damage that way.  My favorite is my chainsaw when I wander around my yard and trim up my trees. Nothing is better than watching one of the big dead ones come down right where I wanted it to.

  • A 250-pc ratchet set is invaluable when driving an older vehicle like mine :) It's been by my side everyday for the last 5 years.

  • Miniature Torx drivers compatible with BlackBerry devices and other small electronic devices.
