Especially since a lot of it we can investigate for feasibility inside one of our devices.

Normally CES has a big theme of what people are doing. A couple years ago was Tablets. Last year was 3D TVs. This year doesn't really have a theme. It's been pretty open ended. However, there are still some neat technologies on display such as:

SpareOne Cellphone - 15 year battery life with 1 AA battery. While it's a dumb phone with pretty much no bells nor whistles, 15 years is a long time: http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/12/spareone-cellphone-claims-15-year-battery-life-we-go-hands-on/

Golden-i - The head mounted display from Motorola. I've always wanted a headmounted, augmented reality display in my glasses (or beamed into my eye) but we're not quite there yet. However, any work done in the field gets us closer to that day: http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/11/hands-off-with-the-golden-i-head-mounted-computer/

ioSafe rugged data storage - Really only because they tested their device with a Tesla coil. I mean really. That's awesome. http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/11/iosafe-gives-shocking-demo-of-thunderbolt-rugged-portable-protot/

Lumus head mounted display - A little bit closer to what I'd actually want out of a head mounted display than Motorola's offering but still definitely on the clunky side. http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/11/lumus-see-through-wearable-display-hands-on/

SiGNa Fuel Cell - Fuel Cells was another one of those hyped too much too early technologies so it's interesting to see something actually coming out of it. Comments are saying the Pukk's will retail for about $3-4 so it will be interesting to see if it makes it anywhere. http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/signa-chemistry-sodium-silicide-might-power-your-next-fuel-cell/

Has there been anything that you have spotted and wanted in a Psion device?

Apparently this data is generally captured on paper and then entered manually into various systems from different shipping companies.

IPOD

IPHONE

They let 3rd party manufacturers (like stereo systems, and other add-ons) get access to how this connector works. You drop your IPOD into the stereo system and use the 3rd party remote to flip through songs. Apple doesn't have to worry about designing amplifiers and other audiophile equipment.

And in the Android world, you have a micro B USB socket placed somewhere on the handheld. Different for each handheld and different manufacturers. As I posted a few months ago even the micro B cable needed to be slimmer/customized for the Samsung Galaxy S phone.

Surely if USB.org can exist to standardize the USB connectors, then the Android folks can get together and standardize a connector and docking system like Apple does. The advantages of dropping your phone into your basic dock/charger/amplifier are huge! And not having to design an amplifier that ONLY works with your phone is even better.

The equipment (hard and soft) should include stickers/labels or other alternative means, Software working in compliance with Accounting System Armenian software, reader which will enable input and output of information via stickers/labels or other alternative means from/to Armsoft. The detailed description and requirements for the mentioned equipment is described below:

a) Waterproof and thermally resistant stickers with magnetic medium or alternative devices having printable outer surface, which are easy to attach to any surface;

b) possibility to input information into the stickers or alternative devices, editing of the input information in easy and user-friendly manner, particularly input of information onto the stickers using Armenian Software Accountancy system, as well as reflection of brief information in Armenian Software Accountancy system or in Excel file;

c) Availability of respective equipment for inventory listing of the base station, which will allow implementation of digital inventory listing through magnetic stickers at a distance of 1 to 100 meters;

d)    The number of required equipment shall be approximately for the stickers - 120,000 pieces, for the readers - 10 pieces;

Public works are scenarios where our devices are used. Since GPS accuracy is a key issue on those sites, most topographers use differential GPS technologies to feed GPS readers back from fixed reference stations.

As you all know we integrate Ublox ANTARIS 4 module at our Ikôn. According to Ublox Sistem Integration Manual, their GPSs support RTCM dGPS technology. Two ports are provided, hence, theoretically, you could feed the GPS back from positioning information you get from other fixed know source.

I would like to get some feedback from anyone who is using WAP GPS for such kind of applications. I am very interested in both technical and operational feasibility of the solution.

My company wants to start selling iKon here in Japan but when analysing the power adapter that came with the docking station in the demo kit we could not find the PSE mark.

This mark is mandatory for all the power cords sold in japan (Please refer to http://www.jet.or.jp/en/).

I noticed that the iKon's power supply has it so I was wondering if there is any special reason why the docking station's power supply doesn't have it (both are from same manufacturer: PHIHONG).

Is there an alternative? Is it possible to get the mark on the docking's power cord?

By the way, the docking station's product model is CH4000.
