Hello,
we decide to use the 500 mW CAEN UHF Module (circular and/or linear)
I understand that there are different modules available for US and Europe. In the discussion forum I found some infos, that these modules are also certified for other countries like Peru. Every than and now I am asked if the PSION RFID Reader is certified in country "XYZ"..
Maybe there is list available for which countries the different UHF RFID modules are certified ?
If not I would be glad to know if any Modul is certified for Brazil, Russia, India, Korea or China.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
Attached please find the list you are looking for.4048.RFID Approval status 101005.xls
Hi Matthias,
As far as I know, we use the American FCC setting for all Americas, Peru included.
For EMEA region, we always use the ETSI setting.
For South Africa and Australia, we use the American setting.
We have a regional settings for the following countries (based on the American antenna 915 Mhz) :
- China
- Thailand
- Korea
For Malaisia, it is case by case, Singapore is using the European setting, it has to be checked in the EPC Global frequency allocation table.
For India, we use the ETSI setting.
For Russia, we use the ETSI setting
For US, Canada, Brasilia, we use the regular American FCC setting
For Japan, we use a specific Japanese setting with a specific 952 Mhz antenna.
Do you know the EPC Global frequency table ? If not, I wil provide you the link.
Pierre
The country list is very a good overview and helps me a lot.
Thank you for the prompt respond.
We will write our own RFID application. This application should be ready to handle with all supported countries. So we need to know which initial reader settings must be set for each country.
In my opinion there should be only the function SetRFRegulation() with the adequate parameter CAENRFIDRegulations relevant.
But I don't know wich ENUM fit to which country.
Could you please get me some more informations.
Thank you in advance.
Here are a few more information.
During the kitting of the UHF module in the Workabout Pro, we lock the set of parameters according to the country of destination.
If you wish to lock the unit by yourself, we have to discuss how to transfer you this locking utility and sign an agreement.
Concerning Japan, due to the specific regulation, the CAEN module is slighly different, and there is a specific part number to order it : 1051615 as indicated in the last RFID Guide.
Cheers,
Hi Pierre,
I wonder how PSION could pre-configure the RFID modul 1051585 for eg. USA and CHINA?
Are there different order numbers for each/several countries?
When processing the order, we just lock the regional parameters accroding to the country of destination.
We have a different set of parameters for China and for America.
Considering the linear antenna, there are 3 ordering part numbers, corresponding to 3 different antennas (frequency tuning). But for the regional setting, the hardware can be the same, the parameters are configured with a software utility and password protected, to comply with the local radio regulations.
All our devices will be ordered from stock.
So we have to put for each country a different configured device with a unique order number into stock.
Now our problem is to know how many differnt configurations for which countries are possible.
(I guess, that for all ETSI country we didn't need different settings at all.)
Afterwards we have to decide which configuration/country we will offer our customers. Because we are also interrested to have a small set of order positions.
You are right: for ETSI country, there is just one setting. Same for Japan: one setting. The different settings are used for USA / China / Tailand / Korea.
Looking at your logistic process, you will need to use our lock utility to be able to manage smoothy your regional configurations.
Would you like we prepare an agreement to share this utility with your company ?
we get our devices preconfiguerd via our distributor WAROK.
So I guess it would sufficient if WAROK is able to do the region settings.
But we need to know, which country has own settings.
E.g. we need a reader for the US market, thats fact. But if the US settings fits also for Peru, we could tell our customers, that our US device is also certificated for Peru.
At the time we have only the following countries in focus:
US, Canada, China, Brasilia, SouthKorea, Russia, India and of course Europe.
At the moment I have all needed informations.
At the moment we are planning to use the ETSI settings and the American FCC settings.
If there is any real request from our customer, I will ask you for this special country again.
Thanks again for the prompt requests.
Matthias
Hi all,
We are russian company and have big potential RFID project. WAP3 is the device that suits the project perfectly. Unfortunatelly, the wanted RFID modules (for example, CAEN UHF CA1-A1-G2 868 MHz) are not certified to use in Russia.
1) Is there any possibility to certify the uncertified modules?
2) If yes, how long time will take to do that?
3) The price for certification?
Rodion
Hi Samoilov,
I have approval certificate from Russia for UHF 868 MHz RFID I will issue an ECR to have the system updated accordingly.
Regards,
Sada
Hi Sadashiv Dharwarkar!
This is good news!
We also need the following RFID modules in Russia:
1) TAGSYS HF-T2-G2-USB MPEC
2) ACG HF-AM1-G2-USB MPEC
What are the possibilities to have them?
The above RFID's will also be included in the update.
Very good, thanks Sadashiv !
