Show me you pets

  • Moose is awesome … although I’m sure she wasn’t too happy when you put the Santa hat on her.

    Merry

  •

This is my standard poodle X.

  • First Snow of the Season in the GTA, this is Ross and his best friend Phoebe (the cat).

  • Pets!? Here's my story... Last night was one without sleep ... No, not the rebranding, it was our dog. The dog was very sick (at both ends) and about 3am started bleeding internally (their was "evidence" sadly!) so I quickly drove him to the emergency vet (20 miles), at 3:30 and left him there at 4:30am with things getting worse (on a drip, "cone-of-shame", lots of jabs). Got home at 5am, got back in the car at 6am to pick him up and take to our local vet (5 miles) where he is now. And he is better, thank goodness. Will take him home tonight.

Anyway, if you wonder why I have gone quiet on email/blogs/tweets, it's because I am having a nap (probably on my keyboard!).  Picture of the little chap attached.  And they say that dogs look like their owners!! Utter rubbish.   Perhaps he looks like one of the kids??   :o)

  • Oh Nick! I hope the little snookums is okay? You have to update us to let us know he is okay.  How old is he?

  • Heather - He only JUST 4  (17th January)... He's called Toffee (named by our daughter!).  Still at the Vet now, waiting for update in 90 mins.  Fingers crossed.  :o(

  • Poor little boo-boo.  Our westie is only going to be 3 in June and we are dealing with irritable bowel (don't ask!! - the 3000 dollar gastro thing that won't go away) and cataracts(!)

  • Great news! he is home and happy (kids even happier!!). Eating tiny amounts, but keeping it inside so far.

  • Excellent news!!!  I'm sure he will have lots of cuddles in the next couple of days.

    thanks for the update

  • Eyes

Close-up of Pepper. If you look closely you can see me in the darks of her eyes.

  • Not really a house pet but we have been seeing her for over 3 years now. We have appropriatly named her tripod, notice the missing right rear leg. I am unaware if this was an injury or birth defect but regardless she seems nearly unimpaired.

  • Well Nick I had a night like yours last night.  He was up throwing up every 20-30 minutes from 9 last night till 6 this morning...just one end - and his tail is still wagging.  My husband is taking him to the vet today, worried about dehydration etc.  He has irritable bowel, but this is the worst flare up ever.

The joys of owning a pure bred!!

    cross your fingers.......

  • I don’t currently have a pet and miss having one dearly.  Just before I left South Africa for the UK, I found an abandoned kitten under our outside stairs.  (He was obviously an unwanted Christmas Gift!!)  He was so frail and so sick but petrified and would not let anyone near him.  I put out food daily for him and eventually managed to coax him into the house.  But he still would not let us touch him to take him to the vet so I had to explain to the vet the symptoms and hopefully get the right medication which I hid in his food.   Well this little mite grew fat and healthy and I was very heart sore when I had to find another family to keep him when I left.

We named him Joey (after a little kangaroo – as he would bounce everywhere including off the walls).  He was CRAZY J.

The first picture is when he first arrived.  You could see every bone in his little body.

I have always had a pet and looking at all the pictures of everyone’s pet has made me jealous.  How can landlords be so mean as to say no animals allowed?

  •

This is my good buddy Jake out on the the Niagara River this year. He just had surgery to remove his man hood but will make a full recovery soon and be ready to swim in the spring!

  • Here is Lucy, Shih Tzu/Poodle mix.

    And Rudy, a Border Terrier.
