I am sure that I am missing something. We just replaced a Windows 2000 9500 with a Windows 2003 9500. The replacement 9500 is not setting the alias IP address, it says there is an address conflict.

Hi
Sorry for asking the obvious, but when neither of these two Win 2K3 9500s are online, does the 10.0.227.58 IP reply when pinged?
Regards,
Lawrence - AHD
well the issue is now resolved. I established a remote desktop connection to both 9500's and restarted them both. All three IP addresses did not respond to a ping. the H1 9500 came up first and the alias IP address was set and started responding.
I had not done a system restart yesterday, I was just enter 'w ctrlrestart' on the 9500s.
all is well. I appreciate your time.
Good to know!
Just a reminder, whenever you change the IP address of the Ethernet card installed on the Windows server running the Psion Comm Server service, a reboot of the machine is recommended. This is to make sure that the Comm Server as a running service is bound to the appropriate IP address.
