II have a 7535 G2 that won't start. The screen doesn't come on and the only indicator I have is the bottom right indicator LED isn't lit. I have the scanner sitting in a docking station, so it is getting power. Any suggestions?
Hi, and welcome to our community!
We have had some issues with this symptom with some of our customers.
Generally symptoms like this have shown themselves when there is a connection problem between the battery and the terminal, and is typically where the battery and/or terminal contacts have become contaminated, worn or bent/distorted, resulting in intermittant and/or unreliable connections.
Suggest you remove from the docking station, remove the battery and inspect the terminal and battery contacts for these signs. Surface contamination can be removed by cleaning with a lint free cloth and isopropl alcohol (taking care to wipe in the direction of the terminal contacts so not to distort them). If the terminal contacts are significantly worn, bent or distorted the unit should be sent to depot for repair. Do not attempt to straighten any bent or distorted terminal pins as this will result is future unreliable connections and intermittant operation. If the battery contacts are significantly worn or contaminated, it should be replaced.
Once the contacts have been cleaned (and assuming they are not damaged/corroded) allow the terminal to sit unpowered for a period between 20 mins to overnight (the unit has internal storage which must be allowed to discharge and is time dependant on any tasks in process at the time of the internittant connection).
If this is unsuccessful, or continues to occur, then return unit to depot for inspection/repair
