Hi, i am new to this forum, and new to psion devices. I am currently working in a company working with the Psion handheld scanners (we have about 200 devices) and work with the MCC. the developers in our team made a profile for the new device we are currently rolling out, the Psion Neo, and we are wondering if it is possible to deploy that new profile to the devices when they get connected trough a dock with the MCC. For as far as i can tell, there is a deoployment server, but it looks like it is only designed to deploy software on a device? please feel free to ask more information if needed. As this is the first real assignment on my new jjob, i would love to find a conclusive answer to my question.
Thx in advance!
A bit more info:
Mobile Control Center version: 8.02, build 4524
Device information: Psion Neo PX750
Hello Sven and welcome to our community. What configurations would you like to port over? You can inject clone settings for the Wireless, and OpenTekterm to name just two into the MCC device agent. That way when you install the agent it will configure the device automatically.
Hi John, and thx for your reply. The idea is to deploy a profile containing an OS with some software on. right now we do this using an USB link to the MCC server, but we would like to do this automaticly when the device is plugged in to the cradle and obtained an IP adress in the range from the MCC server. I did search the community for answers, and i found some guide to deploy software onto the device, but that isnt really what i am looking for.
Hi John, and the rest of the community ofc :). I was wondering if you found some time to read my question. I really hope to find an answer.
Have you considered using Active Remote Configuration (A.R.C.) for OS deployment?
