Installing NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab remotely with MCC

How can I install NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab using MCC? When I try to open this file in MCC using menu "add package", I get an error message about "wrong format".

This CAB file is from the development pc in directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v3.5\WindowsCE\Diagnostics\ and contains messages for several exceptions. I was able to copy the file to the Psion device and install it by clicking on it using the File Explorer, but now I am looking for a method to install this remotely using MCC.

MCC lockdown menu

Hi,

I have some 8530 G2 lockeddown with MCC, if i have no keyboard connected to the terminal i cannot exit the lockdown menu cause the little button to show the full keyboard is not working, i can type only numbers...

Is there anyway to resolve this issue.

Hi,

My client is using Omnii XT15 WEH to run a web based application with java script over wifi.

From time to time, the end user will experience network disconnection symptom (no ping response from the XT15). However, when the IE was closed by clicking the IE menu button and then 'Exit', the wifi connection will resume immediately.

Can Dr. debug help to collect diagnostic information? What settings such as 'Error Level' & 'Log file size' should be used?

USB Setup File for 8525G2 not working, Getting Application parameter error

I already have active sync installed and have latest service packs on windows...

new WAP 3 cannot handle older software

Hi,

I have a application on about 20 WAP 3 (CE 5.0, Laser-Barcode-Scanner). Recently I got a new one (CE 5.0, 2D-Imager) and wanted to use the old TR-Image-Files, which I used to setup the other WAP3. That ended up in a crash while starting my application. Even with debugging I only got the message, that in "InitializeComponent" the mainmenu is disposed.
The same behavior came in a simple app (only a button to close the app).

I installed the most recent netcfSetupV35, the 2.0 is already in the ROM. But nothing changes.

Any ideas?

Transfer of MCC Server to another PC

Hi,

My customer is going to deploy the MCC device agents to the handheld terminals but the permanent server hardware is not ready yet. They would like to know if they can install the MCC server in a termporary PC and then transfer it to the permanent server later.

If this is possible, please advise the correct procedure.

Changing from CE to WM

Can a Workabout Pro G3 have the OS changed from CE 5 to Windows Mobil 6.5 or prior in the field? Specifically, can we use the WM image file in the download section and replace the CE OS on the G3 with this image of WM 6.x using a docking station connection?

I recently purchased a Workabout Pro3 with a BR1000.
After changing some settings to try to run an application (Lir - Balogh) to read labels infrared via a read head connected to the socket TTL BR1000, it not wanting to start, I decided to perform a factory restore Workabout.

Since the applications installed by default (Blackroc SEC Com Port Manager ...).

How do I get them back, knowing that I do not have the installation CD Workabout.

j'ai récemment fait l'acquisition d'un Workabout Pro3 équipé d'un BR1000.

Après avoir modifié certains paramètres, pour essayer de faire fonctionner une application (Lir - Balogh) pour lire des étiquettes infra-rouge via une tête de lecture connectée sur la prise TTL du BR1000, celle-ci ne voulant plus se lancer, j'ai décidé d'effectuer une restauration usine du Workabout.

Depuis les applications installées par défaut (Blackroc SEC, Gestionnaire de Com Port ...).

Comment puis-je les récupérer, sachant que je n'ai pas les CD d'installation du Workabout.

I'm looking for the best tool to control user access on this devices.

Does anyone have any experiance with freeware solution for customizing the platform and the GUI.

My requirement a pretty simple: Only the programs selected by me are allowed and anything else is

hide or disabled (or i worst case removed).

MCC Server Backup

My client is devising the backup strategy for the MCC server (v9.x).

From the FAQ, I learn that just backing up the MCC db should be enough. Therefore, would like to know if we need to stop the deployment server or MCC server or the SQL server services before performing the db backup?

In case user will have full server backup, can this replace the MCC db backup?

How to: Getting started with TekConsole SC

In this "How to," I'll demonstrate how to setup the initial TekConsole SC system for communicating with SAP and enabling the Mobile Data Entry transaction "LM00."

Note: This article does not address the installation of TekConsole SC.

Assuming TekConsole SC is installed correctly, the next logical first step is to install the licences. You can get a license from your Psion representative. You'll receive a production license if you have purchase TekConsole SC or a demo license if you are just evaluating TekConsole SC. To install the license, start the TekConsole SC (MMC) administration console. In the example below, I've pinned the link to the "Start Menu."

Next, navigate to the "License" node in the tree on the left side. Right-click on the node and choose the "Import" option.

From the "Open" dialog, navigate to the location of your license file, click the file and click the "Open" button.

You will be prompted to accept the EULA. Please read the license, click the "Accept" option and then click the "OK" button.

Next, we'll setup the SAP connection and test its validity. Navigate to the "SAP" node in the tree on the left side. Right-click the node and choose the "Properties" option.

Click on the ellipses button to the right of the "Connection" property as shown in the image below.

Fill in the values for the "Client," "User ID," "Password," "Host," and "SystemNumber". Click the "Ping" button to verify the validity of the connection.

If the connection information is valid, you should see the following confirmation dialog.(Note: your SAP server release may be different.)

If your configured version of the SAP server release does not match the "Pinged" version, you'll also see this dialog to confirm updating the configured version. Click the "Yes" button to save the SAP server version to the configuration.

Click the "OK" button on the two dialog windows to save the configuration.

Next, we'll ensure that the initial terminal is setup to run the transaction set to connect to the SAP Mobile Data Entry transactions (LM00). Navigate to the "RF Terminal/Terminal" node on the tree on the left. Right click on the initial terminal on the list on the right and choose the "Properties" option.

Click on the drop-down list for the "Transaction Set" property to see a list of available transaction sets. Choose either the "Console" or "ConsoleGuiOnly" transaction set from the list. (Note: the ConsoleGuiOnly transaction set is recommended.)

Click the "OK" button to save any changes you have made.

[Optional] If you use a controller or mini-controller to connect to terminals (for example, narrow band radio terminals), you'll need to add a "Base" to make a connection from TekConsole SC to that controller. This step is not necessary if the terminal connect directly to the TekConsole SC system. Navigate to the "RF Terminals/Bases" node on the tree on the left. On the right side, right-click on an open area and choose the "New->Base" option from the context menu.

Choose a "Name" for the controller, specify the values for the "Host Name" and "Port Number" and click the "Finish" button to create a new Base.

Finally, to start the execution engine (Terminal Handler), navigate to the "Services" node in the tree on the left. Find the "MIS.RFTerminal" service in the list on the right. Right-click the line and choose the "Start" option from the context menu.

If the service starts correctly, you will see the following screen.

Now you should configure your Open TekTerm for the TESS protocol to either point directly to the IP address of the TekConsole SC server or to the controller you setup in the earlier steps.

Keep Tracking of OS Version via MCC Custom Data

Tried to get the OS code information from Custom Data but nothing displayed. Also, I cannot locate the .ini file from the XT15 as shown in the 'Custom Data Manager'.

XT15 Wireless Setting via MCC Configuration Profile Manager

Hi,

I'm testing the 'XT15 Wireless Setting via MCC Configuration Profile Manager' function so that the wireless setting can be accomplished by scanning a series of barcodes.

I tired the wireless settings quite a while and found that if more than 1 wireless profile is configured, the non default one always failed to configure.

(remark: I'm using the devicescape configuration)
