Is it possible to provide cellular connectivity via PCMCIA or USB to the 8525 / 8530 and the 8580 / 8590? Looking at the specs, the 8525 / 8530 support PCMCIA slots 16/32 bus interface and have USB capabilities. The issue I see is the fact that the 8525 / 8530 are CE devices and the drivers for WWAN broadband cards are typically compiled for WM / XP / 7 Operating Systems. I would think it should work for the 8580 / 8590 since they run XP Pro, but curious to know if it has been tried. Please let me know?
As far as I kow the 8525/30 only supports 16 bit pcmcia cards.
USB would be difficult as I am not aware of any usb modems that support CE drivers.
Your best option would be to use a WWAN router - take a look at the below postings - there are options for wireless routers.

Thanks Scott. Yes, our customer is looking at a WWAN router by Icomera ( http://www.icomera.com ), however we are looking at possibly having the connectivity directly on the unit instead. Have you had any experience with testing it on the 8580/90?
Sorry no, I have not tried any WWAN cards in the 8580/90 devices. With the 8580/90 you also have the option of using USB based WWAN devices.
