AP enclosure

  • Selling AP's in habour environment, we always need a  protective enclosure for all weather conditions.

In the past we bought this locally. Now we have to order via the centralised system. We did it, but we received just a heater and a fan.

Can someone document in all detail :

    - what enclosures are available ? (please document with photographs, technical specs, part numbers, ...)

    - how do we have to order ?

thanks for clearing this one very urgently.

    Bart

  • Bart, here in the US, for port installs, we typically use a 24"x24"x8" or 36"x30"x16" enclosures depending upon what type and how many APs are going into them.

I do have PNs and some associated data sheets but I'm not sure if you can use them in Europe.  I will send you what I have.

  • That's great...but are these enclosures we can order through the main system ?

If the 9160 is fitting, it will be OK...except if the electronics are not on 240V, but still on 110V !

    thanks

  • thanks Michael

  • Hello Bart,

Here in Brazil we usually use metal boxes with fan, spare gates/lightining arrestors/line filters or just simple metal boxes from a local manufacturer.

On sites where APs are placed inside, we just use plastic boxes or fix the AP directly on wall using default metal brackets.

If you have interest, I can send you the brochures. Some of then are only in portuguese.

    Best Regards,

    Leandro

  • We use metal boxes too We bought from a local supplier

  • Just a comment ... tested it on my last install some plastic boxes with special protection for the sea air. Lighter and cheaper than iron, they offer the same degree of protection and durability.

    Thanks!

  • are these documented and available for Europe as well ?

    Sounds interesting anyway.

  • Hello, regarding the plastic box with high resistance, follow the link below with their characteristics. I used it in a port in Brazil and for now is going very well.
