Wireless problem with 7535G2 on WPA2/AES/PEAP-MSCHAP

  • WiFi.mp4

    Hello you all,

I have a little odd problem regarding 7535G2 WiFi connection.

Problem is that we have two brand new 7535G2 with RA2041 (SummitDC-802.11g_SC_CF).

Those two devices cannot connect to our wireless network for one second and then they disconnect (video file attached). We also have few older 7530G2 and they work flawlessly for few years with same RA2041 (SummitDC-802.11g_SC_CF).Our wireless network is configured with WPA2/AES/PEAP-MSCHAP for encryption/authentication.

    New terminals:

    Boot code A131n

    OS Code A131q

    PCon Code A131n

    SummitDC-802.11g_SC_CF

    Old terminals:

    Boot C147n

    OS L086o

    PCon C147n

    Summit DC-802.11g_SC_CF

What do we have to do?

1 - Change to older OS (software issue)

2 – Return to RMA (hardware issue)

  • any information on the AP infrastructure and radius server ? I assume you are using saved username/password ?

  • Looks like an authentication issue. Can you check the radius server or AP being used to authenticate the client and look at the log file. it might contain some clues. Even the AP association log itself might contain some useful information.

Also, just as a test you could try an older version of software on the 7535. The build you listed contains the latest version of the Summit client. It might be an undiscovered bug or something in the new driver/supplicant.

  • Hello you all,

Thanks for your answers and time.

    I salved the problem.

Problem wasn’t in wireless network configuration or authentication issue.

Problem was in Windows CE 5.0 OS and after downgrading to earlier version (C150q) wireless started to work.  :)

    Kind Regards,

    Nikola

  • Hi Nikola,

Can you please send us the AP or Controller configuration?  It looks like it is a Cisco backbone so I am interested to understand why the connecion was not working with the newer OS image.  The configuration you are using has been tested and should work so I would like to understand why it is not.

  • Paul - this sounds similar (but not exactly the same)  to the what we are working on for another one of my customers.  Devicescape vs Open Source Summit supplicant.
