I have been wondering when this would hit us. When you are talking about on demand Vidoe, and I hear that the carriers want to turn all voice connections into VOIP connections. Sounds way too data intensive to me .
I don't think there will ever be enough Cell towers.

It is a race between technology and application. Offer more bandwidth and you will find new applications needing more bandwidth which is the driver for developping newer technology with more bandwidth, and so on.
I would not be worried, as long as our rugged mobile devices are well accepted in the markets.
Maybe this will help get all those teenagers off Facebook and downloading/sending pictures all day long... If not Mom and Dad may be shocked when they get that cell bill!!!
Just last weekend me and my lovely wife went to eat at a nice resturant. Looking around at least one member at every table was on the iphone or blackberry texting while the others in the party were just watching. Kind of sad we can't spend at least a few hours out of the day to just have a nice talk with our significant other....
