Once in a while, we get asked about Pairing Bluetooth devices examples, and for the Omnii XT10 running Windows CE 6.0 there was no information on what to look for on IW.
In this example the Omnii is being connected to the LS3578 using Bluetooth.
Now, with the 8585 example I proved that a BT device can be connected to a BT adapter plugged into an 8585. Trouble is, that config is not supported since we do not supply the BT dongle for 8585, and the LS3578 has a USB cradle (as well as serial) that does this job perfectly well, and is fully supported since it is a supported device for the purpose.
Unlike the 8585, the XT10 has Bluetooth management built in, sooo, connecting an LS3578 is a nice wireless method of connecting a BT Bar-Code scanner to a Windows CE 6.0 device. Both of which are supported by the Psion Help Desk.
I give two examples of Scanners that we cannot support insofar as much we do not have these, and cannot suggest configuration and settings changes to match this example, but can be User supported so long as the users (clients) are aware of this. The Intermec SF51 is a good example, as well as the Datalogic Gryphon BT4100 Barcode scanner. Both need printed Configuration sheets to match the settings I suggest for the LS3578, and both use Bluetooth Serial COM methods to communicate to the Keyboard Wedge softwares for the connected system.
Enjoy.
