Psion provides several serial port interface/cable options for the Workabout Pro ranges

  • Model WA4020-G2: Tether to RS232 converter
    *** FOR WORKABOUT PRO G2 / G3 ONLY ***

    This Tether to RS232 Adapter provides RS232 connectivity to the WORKABOUT PRO through the tether port on the bottom of the handheld unit.

  • Model WA4020-G1: Tether to RS232 converter
    Suitable for Workabout Pro G0/G1 and G2 terminals

    This Tether Serial USB to RS232 Adapter provides RS232 connectivity to the WORKABOUT PRO through the tether port on the bottom of the handheld unit.

  • Model WA4015 or WA4015-G1: USB to RS232 converter
    Suitable for Workabout Pro G0/G1 and G2 docking stations

    This Serial USB to RS232 Adapter provides RS232 connectivity to the WORKABOUT PRO through the USB port.

  • Model BR1000-G1: 3-Port Serial Endcap (Kit)
    Suitable for Workabout Pro G0/G1/G2 and G3 terminals

    The 3-port serial endcap provides IrDA, RS232, and TTL connectivity in a convenient location at the top of the WORKABOUT PRO.

    - COM0: è raw Ir port
    - COM1: è RS232 port
    - COM8: è TTL port
    - COM9: è IrComm Virtual port

    & In addition, power has been made available for external devices via

    The single port endcap provides RS232 connectivity in a convenient location at the top of the WORKABOUT PRO.

  • Model WA4005-G1: Port Replicator
    Suitable for Workabout Pro G0/G1 and G2 vehicle cradles

    The Port Replicator is an optional accessory that allows peripherals (e.g. printers or weigh scales) to be attached to the powered (and few unpowered) G0, G1 and G2 Vehicle Cradles (WA1000, WA1010, WA1100, WA1110, WA1010-G1, WA1110-G1, WA1210-G2 or WA1310-G2) for the WORKABOUT PRO. The Port Replicator supports as many as three serial devices and a USB Host when connected to the WORKABOUT PRO through a Vehicle Cradle.

    The Port Replicator has 4 peripheral ports:
    - One USB 1.1 Client port to connect to a powered Host such as a Notebook.
    - Three, 9-pin, RS232 serial ports
    - USB and serial cables are not provided with the Port Replicator
