EPC Global - Low Level Reader Protocol

What is LLRP?

LLRP stands for Low Level Reader Protocol. It’s an EPCGlobal standard describing the software interface for RFID readers. The protocol was designed to support a wide variety of readers and air protocols, but for PTX LLRP, and at the time of writing, the most recent version of the protocol is 1.0.1. The focus therefore is on UHF Class 1 Generation 2 version 1.1.0.

Distribution
PTX LLRP is currently distributed as a CAB file. Once loaded, LLRP runs as a software driver with an indicator in system tray.

The majority of RFID middlewares supports the LLRP. PTX LLRP can help you in the integration
Tests
PTX LLRP has been tested extensively on WAP G2 terminals running WinCE 5.0.
Test applications include BizTalk, LTKNet and PTX proprietary tools.
Limitations
LLRP was designed for fixe readers. This mobile version is for evaluation. PTX LLRP works on connected mode only.
