We are running 9500 Controllers and using TN5250 to connect to the AS400 on Telnet port 23. We are looking to switch to port 992 and use SSL.
I have talked to Tech support and they tell me to change the port on the 9500 to 992 and we will be fine. However looking through the discussions on here and in the KB it says differently. I am looking for some guidance on this issue.
Hi Linda
The 9500 or Commserver software does not support SSL connections natively. Though some success has been reported with third party software such as stunnel, it would be difficult to know how and if this solution would work for you company and volume of interactions. Stay-Linked is a controller type option Psion sells that supports SSL

The Stunnel solution has worked well for us on the 9500 with some customers running 500 clients. For more info, see post http://community.psion.com/knowledge/w/knowledgebase/using-ssl-to-secure-the-host-connection-on-a-9500.aspx
Thanks Blake good to know, Per the post below I had played with stunnel and Putty and documented working with Putty but could not test in a large system for extended periods of time.

Nice to know some sites have it working with so many devices with the Stunnel solution
