Hi,
If you use Internet Explorer, you can use Tab key to jump between fields in a webpage.
But if you open the same webpage from MCC lockdown menu, you can't use Tab key to jump between fields.
Is there some way to jump between webpage fields from lockdown?
I know that you can start Internet Explorer from lockdown, but then you lose the kiosk mode feature of the MCC lockdown.

Lars Hansen
Hi Lars,
What is your MCC version?
and what device(s) you are testing with?
Thanks,

MCC version 8.02

per my testing, [TAB] functions within MCC lockdown. I am able to move forward between screen elements using [TAB]
May I ask how you have your MCC lockdown policy setup?

Hi Luke
With your program path it will work, but if you just type in the webpage it will not work.
Thomas
Thank you. What do you mean just type the webpage?
I modified my MCC lockdown policy and [TAB] still works - I am able to move forward between screen elements.
Any other settings I need to change to re-create the issue?
If I set the program path as you did, the TAB do not work............................
I have another problem regarding the Lockdownmenu of a Windows XP an Windows 7 device, where can I get the WinLockdown.pcg for MCC 8.02 ???
what device model and its system properties are you testing with wherein [TAB] does not work?
Hi Luke,
Try this page: http://www.google.com/advanced_search
if you use "\Windows\iexplore.exe,http://www.google.com/advanced_search" there is no problem with [tab]
but if you just use http://www.google.com/advanced_search in the path you can't pass the first text input field, the terminal just makes an error beep.
Now I have testet it on an EP10 as well and get the same result as on Ikon.
The security settings is just admin password and a lockdown menu, no other special settings.
Lars
Thank you. Problem reproduced. It appears MCC is using a different (its own) browser if the program "iexplore.exe" is not set (called) in the lockdown policy.
This is evident in the below screen shots
\Windows\iexplore.exe,http://www.google.com/advanced_search
http://www.google.com/advanced_search
Are uoy looking in to this issue ??
Hi TSVEN,
Could you please formally open a trouble ticket with your local Psion Help Desk so we can further evaluate and investigate the limitations around the "secure" browser (built-in MCC) vs. iexplore.exe (that comes with the target device)
Thanks
UPDATE: please obtain MCBrowse.exe as a workaround via a trouble ticket
This utility is a standalone IE web browser locked in kiosk mode - all functionality to browse to user-specified address have been removed.
Syntax: MCBrowse.exe, "Starting Page"
"Starting Page": Specifies the web page MCBrowse will navigate to after start up. If the parameter is not provided, application navigates to system home page by defaults.
Examples:
MCBrowse.exe MCBrowse.exe, http://www.google.com/advanced_search
We will give it a try.
Thanks for the update.
No problem Lars
Cheers,
