The Scanner is a Workabout pro 7527C G2 , PXA270, running Windows Mobile 6 v F097m, OS 5.2.318 (build 15342.0.0.0), bootst = G187s and a RA2041 SDC-CF110G.
I'm trying to setup a Wireless EAP-TLS authenticated profile for the first time on this model of scanner and the SDU is missing this option. The documentation shows this as a available option, but not on my version. Tried upgrading with the 7527_WM61_PRO_WWE_MULTI_6.0.933.B_F271w.img and it is too large for the SD card.
any help please.

Yes if your OS is Mobile professional. Be aware it is not recommended to have mismatch, but as I told you you can try. It should not crash the unit , but you may see unexpected behaviour , or perhaps it will not install .

The SCU ( summit client ) is installed with Add on cab file and it is not part of the main OS.
The version that you have is 1.1 and the one that you are trying to install is 6.0. The upgrade is possible , but would have to be done at the depot.
What is the serial number of your 7527 ?
817BM004321 However, I have a few dozen scanners,( G1 and G2 workabout Pro) 6 of which had RA2041's ordered for them last month and given to me to add to our wireless network.
Do you have a link to the SCU version that would support EAP-TLS? Can i install just a newer version of the SCU without a OS upgrade?
I would contact the reseller who sold you these units and ask them to assist you. If the unit is not under support contract , we can not provide software upgrade. Unfortunately the one that you can download on our site is just newest recommended,
I believe if you take this add on from here , thta most likely will not work because it is huge gap in the OS level.
You can try and see.

Any attempt to upgrade a version 1.xx firmware to a version 2.xx firmware will render the terminal useless.Devices that currently have power micro version 1.xx must be sent to a Psion Service Depot to be J-Tagged to version 2.xx.

We need more info here, when you try to update to OS ver F271, what booSt message(s) did you get when it failed the update process?
Also, what is too large for the SD card? are you referring to the firmware update file, 7527os.img?

There are very few versions of Driver/SCU that do not include TLS as an option. Any later build that is compatible with your hardware should contain this functionality. Another option for you is to choose " third party configuration" and use native zero config to configure TLS.
