Can WA9300 be used on a WAP with RFID (and no barcode reader)?

This question is answered

Hi.

We have a customer that needs to read RFID tags, but have no need to read barcodes.

Is it possible to use th WA9300 alone, i.e. without a barcode reader mounted, to get a

pistol grip trigger for the RFID reader (I can see that the trigger connects to the MLB via

the scanner flex cable, but does it work as a button with only this connected)?

Best regards

  • Hi Jon.

Using the WA9300 trigger back panel and the correct pistol grip does work for RFID solutions, without a Barcode scanner.

The Barcode Scanner does not need to be in the circuit. The trigger is managed by different signals.

You will still need to do the Trigger remap to trigger the RFID wedge software.

  • A quick note to add to this post:

In our Master Price List the WA9300 does not indicate that the Trigger Button assembly is part of a Kit that goes with this Low Profile Pistol Grip.

In our systems however this kit is correctly indicated.  And is installed with the Pistol Grip from Manufacturing is the WAP3 is ordered with this option.
