WAP G2 Updates to the OS and Power/Keyboard micro - CE5.0 - what is included.

  • We have had some issues with inaccurate battery readings and backup battery life and I am looking at updating our WAP G2 units that are running CE5.0 to the current keyboard and power microcode as well as updating the OS to the most current build.

    1. SW version G047q, Keyboard and PowerMicro J167p -
    2. SW version C039n Keyboard and Power Microcode I128p

My understanding based on the is that all units with the config #1 will have to go to the service depot to be updated whereas config #2 can be updated by us here on-site.  Please confirm/correct this.

Depending on what is included in the update image I will have to adjust our deployment rules etc. to that end -what is included in the OS update?

    • Is the Daylight savings time update that came out previously already in the OS image?
    • What version of the Compact Framework is installed in the image?
    • Is the PSIONInfo package included?
    • Is there an MCC agent installed in the image?  If so - what version?

NOTE: We still have some programs running on the OPL interpreter - will the OS and other updates cause any problems with this?

Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

Please read this regarding upgrade off keyboard and power microcode at the WAP G2 terminal

  • Hi Tim,

The PSIONinfo packaged is part of MCC and ready to use when the MCC deployment server is installed.

MCC agent is not in the OS image.

Current version of MCC is 6.03.

  • Hi Tim

The daylight savings patch is included in current releases such as C039n or the currently posted version 7527_CE50_E-FIGS_MULTI_5.1.811_B090r available here.

  • Thanks for all of your feedback.

Overall it confirms what I thought - most of our units will have to go offsite for updating at this point.

Is there a document that provides a sum of the chronological/versioned history of the changes between OS images?

    This would help tremendously.
