Hi,
We are currently using 7535 with Smart Term 2 via MIS to work with ERP application Axapta. We had been using the English as the medium of communication between Axapta and the scanners. But now we would like to send Japanese characters to the scanner and it did not work and displayed some garbage text like reversed question marks. On investigating the issue it was found that the Smart Term 2 does not support Unicode while its successor TekGUI does. so we need to install TekGUI on our 7535 terminals and here are my questions:
1. Are 7535 and TekGUI compatible?
2. As license holders of Smart Term 2, can we freely download and use TekGUI?

Sorry I am not familiar with Smart Term 2, However TekGui requires a license on the MIS/TekRF server for the number of TekGui devices configured. The license is not on the device running TekGui.
At this time I can only suggest following up with your sales contact to determine what can be worked out.

I checked up the license information on our MIS server. It has license for 2 MIS applications, 20 TESS applications, and 1 SAP Host Interface. I guess TekGUI would be covered under the TESS licenses?
Please clarify.
There should be a section under Licenses for TekGUI with a count value greater than zero if there is not then a new license including TekGui devices is needed.
