BR1000-G1 + RA2041 Problem?

And something strange happens...the terminal wit RA2041 card (we put one terminal front another) hangs the application after two or three IRda message exchange..

Can you please tell us how you conduct your tests?
For example, what device is used for receiving the raw IR data the Workabout Pro / BR100-G1 IrDA interface sends?

Have you tried tweaking the BR1000 demo as currently the application does not set any serial port timeouts when the raw IrDA port COM7: is opened.

In other words, the application will hang forever if the data sent through that port never reaches the other end... I.e. the IrDA receiver.

For your information, I went ahead and quickly changed the demo, so it now configures serial port timeouts,  when the raw IrDA port COM7: is opened.

The below attached application should no longer hang but notify you as follows, in case (all) the IrDA data cannot be sent across, before the timer expires.

One more time many thanks for your help...

We was trying using two WAP´s 3 with BR1000-G1, one with the RA2041....Both with this application using port COM7...

We will try it again with this new settings and tell you what happen..

As far as I know, the RA2041 Wi-Fi radio presence should not upset the BR100x / IrDA interface.
I am strongly convinced that the application hung because an IrDA write request remained pending / never completed.

it does not hang the application
Does not hang windows
Send and receive good via WAP to WAP

With the radio WIFI enabled
Do not hangs the application
Does not hang Windows
Do not send or receive a Wap Wap

As I am wondering if increasing the Serial Port WriteTotalTimeoutMultiplier and WriteTotalTimeoutConstant members could help, I am attaching to this note a copy of the eVC++ 4.0 project:

 eVC++ 4.0 - BR1000 Demo project (compressed and CE 5.0 executable embedded)

Feel free to adjust / tweak the above mentioned members (see lines 460 & 461 of the BR1000 Demo.cpp file).

There is an Issue that We the AHD Help Desk is working on this topic.   AHD Ticket [201809]

The IrDA does fail when the RA2041 is enabled in the Network Control Panel.

I will update when we have better information to followup (2013-03-22) on this topic.
