  • Hi David,

I am trying for 7530 HHT with CE 5.0 OS.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hi David,

I have tried the below mentioned process, i found it on IW for EP10 & Ikon, which is working fine.

    1. Browse to the desktop and right click on Computer System Folder. Select properties from the drop down menu.
    2. Click on device manager located in the top left. 3. You will notice that device will show up under other devices and will have a yellow exclamation mark on it.
    4. Right click on the device and select properties.
    5. Select the Driver tab and click update driver.
    6. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
    7. Select Let me pick from a list of devices drivers on my computer
    8. Double click on Show all Devices (first one in the list)
    9. The computer will take some time to display all the drivers.
Under Manufacturer select "Compatible USB storage device" and for Model select "USB Mass Storage Device"
    10. Click Next. Windows will give a warning click yes. Close all the open windows.
    11. The removable drive will now show on your My computer as a removable drive.
Note: This removable drive is the physical RAM of the device (in boost mode).

I am able to get the drive, which shows as empty drive.

Now i am not able to connect the unit through Windows Mobile Device Centre, i tried the same steps but no luck. I am able to connect to 7535 through Windows Mobile Device Centre but not this 7530 Unit (Narrowband).

    Thanks and regards,

  • Excellent question Luke, As a 2008 or newer build such as PXA270-G2_CE50_MULTI_1.16.538_B118s is needed for Windows 7 to automatically detect the terminals, otherwise the manual kludge method needs to be done for each device.

    Regards

    David

  • Hi Vinay

If the OS is CE5.0 and running a pre 2008 build a workaround is available by editing the following registry values on the terminal using the registry editor in the Tweakit utility.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\Serial_Class]
    "idVendor"=dword:0000045E
    "idProduct"=dword:000000CE

  • Hi Luke,

The details are as mentioned below:

    Buid type - Release

    Boot code - I090m

    OS code - I090m

    PCon code - I090l

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hi Vinay

That build is from 2010 and should be detected by the current version of Windows Mobile Device Center.  Do  you have other terminals that connect ok and are seen by WMDC on this PC?  Is this terminal  detected ok on another PC?

    Regards

    David

  • Hi David,

I have connected 7535 to this PC and it was well detected by the WMDC. I did not check the unit with other PC but the unit is working fine with Narrowband radio. I even checked the connection but couldn't find for USB.

    Best Regards,
