We have two batches of 8515's. Six are about six years old and four are 2011 vintage. We use Tekterm. The last couple weeks an older one has been getting Lock-H with long enough waits that the user just reboots. Swapped with newer one and reported problems went away. We have a lot of network traffic currenly. We also know a database purge is in order for the warehouse software. However, from purely a device standpoint what are likeliest causes? Can the software be that much slower on the older unit as to cause an issue? Can the internal antenna go bad? One of those intermittent issues that's hard for support to simlulate in a lab environment. If there's a value add I would send it in (although just returned from depot to repair USB ports 4 months ago).

Good day! If the problem is just happening on one terminal then it could isolated to that terminal only. When the problem occurs, try to isolate it by doing ping tests & verify if the network connection is ok. You can also compare the System Properties between the older units & see if there are dfferences. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Properties & compare them side by side.

Did you try to compare both new and old at same time on same AP ? Isolated ?
