Screen Fonts

This question is answered

I am using terminal emulation software on an Omnii XT15 running Win CE.

I would like to obtain and load a font that includes the extended character set of lines and boxes. Does anyone know where I can obtain a font like that? Does it have to be specific to Win CE? Also, once I get it, how do I load it so that it is available to the OS and the terminal emulation client.

Thanks!

  • Hello Jim- If you are using Tekterm under Tess or Ansi application settings go to characters/Char Set/ IBM/other select IBM PC 437 this may meet your needs.

  • Hi Steven,

Thank you for your reply and info. I am not using TekTerm. I did find some fonts on line and they show up in my pick list of mono-spaced fonts for the term client software I amusing. One of them has the lines/boxes and they look great, but the rest of the "regular" characters (letters and numbers) look like crap! The fonts that come on the Omnii (WinCE) look great other than they do not have the lines and boxes. I looked at some font creation software but unfortunately I cannot copy and existing font and just add the lines and boxes, I have to create every character. Surely someone has run into this before.

    Signed,

    Hopeful :)

  • Hi Jim,

Have you tried the DejaVu font?
