Auto Login AS400

Hi all,

As I know the issue I'll try to center what OJDJ is asking for.

He is using WinTekTerm, WTT, to connect directly to an AS400 (running Cosmos, logistic for container terminal).

If he sets a 5250/telnet session he reachs the host in the main login password screen.

What he is looking for is a way to avoid entering that user and password information to get access to a predetermine screen.

One way would be to set some kind of "autologin" in WTT. Other way would be to identify the device in AS400 using the virtual device name.

We have not found any information to solve this "autologin" feature in a AS400 connection

Hi Raul,

If you go to the TESS settings of the WTT, under Host Connection Settings you will find Emulation which allows you to enable Virtual Device & assign a Virtual Device Name.  I hope this helps.

Thanks Alain. Yes, we know to configure that, and AS400 can see its virtual name.

Maybe it is a more AS400 related question. How or where is configured in AS400 some kind of automatic login taking into account the virtual name of the device?

Any AS400 guru here?
