I had an issue with one of our 7527C-G2 HHUs where it would freeze up or loose wireless connection from time to time. I has been preloaded with the Windows Mobile 6.0 OS. I went ahead and upgraded it to the WM 6.1 to see if it would resolve the problem.
Right now, the wireless signal strength on it is really poor to none at some parts of the store. I have compared it with the other working HHUs that are running 6.0 and they all have good signal where the one that was upgraded barely gets any. I was wondering if I can go ahead and downgrade the OS to WM 6.0 to see if it will bring the signal back, or if there's a setting I can tweak to get it to work properly.
Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Hello Igor- The fact that the other terminals are connecting ok lead us to believe this maybe a hardware issue. I would check the wireless configuration to make sure it matches with the other working terminals and if the issue persists I would arrange to have it sent in for repair. The wireless connection should not be affected by the OS you are using
Hi Igor,
Seems hardware issue, and most likely its wireless card.
I believe that the antenna connector for the wireless card had disconnect. You will need to connect it back(Main) by opening the top cover. Or if you do not know how to open it, you can send it to the servic edepot to do it.
If this is the Summit radio check your settings and compare the terminals that are ok. To have conviction that the antenna connector is loose / damaged or a problem with the radio card, simply approach the maximum possible access point and see if the signal quality increases.
Thanks!
