GS1-128 barcode and AI (Application Identifiers)

This question is not answered

Is there a way to make the Application Identifiers (field seperators) visible in a GS1-128 barcode ?

Does somebody know howto do the settings on a Psion Teklogix 7535 G2 model?

 Thanks

  • Hi Luc

    Nick here, from Product Support.

You can convert the code 128 group seaparators into something visible, for example to convert to  ~  :

Click on Teklogix Scanner icon in Control Panel.

    Expand Code 128.

Click on "FCN1 Conversion" and change the value from "29" which is a decimal value for "Group Separator" and type in "126" which is the hex value for "~".

Test by scanning in the command prompt or word pad.

Now you should be able to see a "~" instead of a group separator.

The application will have to deal with the converted code of course.

    I hope this helps

    Nick

  • hi,

the way to activate these kind of non visible characters depend if you have a decoded or non decoded integrated scanner. But, in both case, you can set it up in the same menu, in teklogix scanner .

here you can configurated your scanner and also create a rule like nick quinn say above to change the value of the character into one understanding by your application.

  • Sorry to bring back an old topic.

I have 7535 G2, I am trying to scan an EAN128 and needto see the field Seperators in my application.  In scanner settings the scanner "Decoded (internal)" I don't have the option that Nick suggested.  That is available under "Decoded (Intermec ISCP), but I can't seem to use those settings.

Under Decoded(internal) I can't get a seperator.  A Rule could work if I knew the string I was replacing. When using the demo scanner the text runs all together.

  • will \001D work?
