Help needed with Total Recall

Help needed with Total Recall

This question is not answered

Hi,

I have recently performed a clean restart on an IKON then reloaded the lastest image (7505os).

I then load my .pfl file onto an SD card and perform a cold restart which would usually pick up the .pfl restore file and start the Total Recall. But nothing is happening, all I get is a message come up saying "waiting for drives".

I have tried to do a total recall from Settings, but I get an error saying "lost connection with archiver engine".

The first method has worked well for other IKONs I have, but for some reason this IKON doesnt want to play!!

I have noticed that the IKON doesnt have the older "Total Recall" in the settings, where as all the others do. Do i need to go back to an older image? If so how do i obtain an older image as 7505 is the only one I can download!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wahid

  • Hi Wahid,

The Ikon need an add on cab file please check system property for add on cab.

This was lost when you did a clean start, Check the other units for the cab file use

    Down load correct cab file.

Also please provide the system property file for your Ikon.

    Regards,

    Burt

  • Hi WahidM,

If you loaded a different firmware that the previous one then the Total Recall profile will not work.  Remember that the backup profile only works with the same level firmware.  You can either manually configure your Ikon with the newer firmware or go back to the previous firmware version.  If you need the get a copy of the previous firmware, contact our Helpdesk directly.

    Thanks,

    Alain

  • Hi Alain & Burt,

Thank you both for your responses.

Firstly Burt, I have executed the relevant CAB file to go with 7505os image but this didnt really make a difference.

I think Alain's response may be what I am looking for, the firmware version the backup file was created on maybe older than the IKON i am trying to restore to, so i may have to use an older firmware version.

Is there an email address for the helpdesk? also how do i find out which firmware version my older devices are on so that i can request the same version.

    Thanks,

    Wahid
