From Arrow Electronics
We need a little info of one of the parameters on the gun. In our application when the screen calls for an "enter", we see that users were not acknowledging the enter, but would scan another location, causing errors. We noticed that the default to the "Beam Lockout" parameter is set to "No". From our research, it appears this default function allows a user to scan when the field or action does not call for it. We changed it to "yes" and now the guns behave properly where the user cannot scan when the action calls for an "enter". We're looking to change this on all guns in Nogales, but we're a little concerned of any residual affects.
Can you explain this feature a little more?
Hi John
This is the description
"Beam Lockout - When enabled (set to “Y”), this parameter disallows use of the scanner when the terminal is in a “LOCK-H” mode."
Note: This parameter will not affect ANSI operations.
This parameter is not recommended for use with multiple TESS sessions. One of the following situations may occur if you do decide to use this parameter. First, you may be unable to scan in the current, unlocked session when another TESS session is in LOCK-H. Second, you may be allowed to scan in the current, locked session when another TESS session is unlocked."
