Hi,
My college is trying to bring a sound from the remote computer to the WAP3 or NEO, unfortunately without results. Any advice?
Kind Regards,
David Klein
My first tests to comfirm the sound setting was with a WAP3 on WM 6.1, as well as a WAP-G2 running Windows CE 5.0. Both performed the same. The NEO's I used a WINCE 5.0 BATCH device, and a WINCE 5.0 PRO device. -sean

Hi Sean,
Thanks for your answer. We've created a sound from the server that is hearable in the customers envorinment.
Only I don't have any clue why the NEO Core and Prof. CE handhelds are both our reproducing the sound thrue RDP from the server at the customers site and in our network it produces the handhelds default sound? Should be a difference somewhere in the servers settings..

Hello together,
i have a NEO via RDP to windows 7 pc and i hear the sound on NEO if i test audio but it is very silent. Is there are a possibilty to get it louder on NEO side.
ON NEO i have sound volume to maximum but the the sound which are comes from rdp session are very silent.
Thank you for your answer.
Hi Andreas.
What is the volume setting on the Windows 7 RDP session interface? You may need to go into the advanced settings on the Windows 7 audio controls to make sure that the "Wave" volume is also turned up.
Try that and let us know.

i have all sound maximum. See screenshot or must i set it in another application?
Regards
Andreas
Thats it.
If that is all they way up, and volume is still low, I suggest checking the Audio on the NEO to see if the NEO has a Volume problem.
I tested it with different NEO and our partner told us the same problem. If i take a sound on NEO under "Startmenu->Settings->control Panel->volume&sounds" it is louder than if i use it in rdp session.
Somebody an idea?
I have tested it with operating system Windows ce 5.0, OS: J040q and 312Mhz Processor. Perhaps there are difference between 612 Mhz and 312 Mhz?
Hi Andreas,
To my knowledge, the receiver installed on 312MHz NEO is the same in the 624Mhz.
About the sound level, I also find it too low when I play (test) Windows system sounds (example Windows asterisk .WAV) within my RDP session however when played on the NEO (outside RDPsession) Windows asterisk sound is audible.
What I found interesting is when I played a video from Internet Explorer within my RDP session (example the Omnii RT15 video posted here in IW) the sound is loud enough for me.
Give this a try and let me know what you think ok?
For me this suggest that the running application within the RDP session can (is able) to control the sound level that is brought to the remote computer which in this case is the NEO device.

Hello Luke,
i have tested it. When i have a video from internet explorer within RDP session (OMNII RT15 video) the sound is a little bit louder but the sound are shutter by my NEO with 312 Mhz and 612 Mhz (second NEO). And the sound are not loud enough for the costumer.
Is there are a possiblity to set the sound to higher level?
Thank you.
Andreas SturmIs there are a possiblity to set the sound to higher level?
possibly, will send this over to our developers
I was told that If the master volume is not affecting the audio in any meaningful manner, then you will likely have to open a trouble ticket with your local Psion Help Desk to further investigate this issue.
